Firefox Web Browser

Firefox is a free web browser developed by Mozilla, a non-profit organization dedicated to making your experience on the web easier, safer, and more enjoyable. Unlike Internet Explorer, Firefox is an open source browser, which means that many people in the world contribute to its maintenance and improvement. For you, this means that bugs are found and fixed quickly, and that new features are constantly being added.

Most of the “new” features you find in Internet Explorer are actually old features from Firefox. Things like tabbed browsing and smart pop-up blockers have been in Firefox for several versions.

Additionally, Firefox has an army of developers who are constantly coming up with new looks (”skins”) and extensions. Extensions take the features and capabilities of Firefox one step further, allowing the user to customize their browsing experience with millions of different options.

If you are a normal user, you may not want to add on all of the extensions, but you’ll be browse much safer and faster with Firefox.
