Squidoo provides users with lots of good information on how to promote and market their lenses to get people to use them. They give new users $5 just for signing up and creating a lens. I know you’re thinking, “okay, what’s the catch?”
Really, there isn’t much of one. You have to accumulate another $15 in sales in order to get a check because they require you have $10 total in your account before they’ll pay you. Basically, that’s it! Squidoo sees it as a motivation for you to make a nice lens.
Once you are successful, they are giving you 100% of the first $10 in sales you generate for doing such a great job. Afterwards, you’ll have a nice lens, and both you and Squidoo will generate money. *HINT–Updating your lens often and getting ranked highly through Squidoo’s user ranking system will generate more traffic and increase your sales.
Even if you aren’t trying to make money from your lens, Squidoo is a cool way to set up your own little web site and share information on anything you’d like. It only takes a couple of minutes to get started.
