Free vs. Membership

By sadcox | Apr 24, 2008

We were (un)lucky enough to learn some very important information about our target market for the membership site we’re developing. Unfortunately, it seems like a very tough market to penetrate (not open to outsiders) and a group that really, really, really doesn’t like to pay for anything.
But that’s ok. We’re going to trim [...]

Back to The Forums

By sadcox | Feb 28, 2008

I think I jumped the gun a little bit selecting a forum. After a lot of research I’m now leaning towards vBulletin. I got caught up in the “freeness” of other boards and didn’t consider the fact that vBulletin is relatively cheap–a couple of hundred bucks is nothing compared to the time I’d [...]

You probably already have your domain [...]

By sadcox | Jun 13, 2007

Squidoo provides users with lots of good information on how to promote and market their lenses to get people to use them. They give new users $5 just for signing up and creating a lens. I know you’re thinking, “okay, what’s the catch?”

The Basics of Blogs and Blogging

By sadcox | Jun 13, 2007

The word “blog” came from the combination of the words web and log — weBLOG. It is basically an online diary, and much, much more. People create blogs to record entries at their leisure, be it daily, weekly, or several times a day. The blogging software they use keeps track of all of their posts [...]
